While I was shopping during this holiday season, I noticed a big change in my shopping behavior. In the past I was too afraid to really voice my concerns or opinions about a product or service to a salesperson. Many times I settled for a product or service that was suggested by the salesperson. This holiday season I made sure to ask all the right questions and made sure that I was purchasing the product that was right for my needs. I was no longer concerned about offending a salesperson by telling them that a suggested product wasn't right for me. What I found was that the salespeople provided me with the best service that I've ever received. A good salesperson welcomes feedback from the customer so that they can help the customer choose the right types of products. They can only do this if they know what you're looking for. I think that I was motivated by what I look for with my customers. I value my customers feedback. It helps me to make sure that I'm providing the products and services that they want. If a customer doesn't provide me with feedback, I don't know if I need to improve my sales approach. So if you are like me and shy away from getting into a dialogue with a salesperson, it might be time to change your approach. I suggest that you take the time to research the product or service that you're interested in. This will help you ask the right types of questions and the salesperson will see you as a well informed customer. |
